Robert Jarrell's store was started by his dad, James (Jim) Jarrell. Jim and Nannie had a home behind the store. It was a big two story house with an upstairs and downstairs porch all the way across the front of the house. The house was painted white and the porches had the old time hand carved scroll work around them. I thought it was a beautiful place.

I don't know when but Jim and Nannie moved into the upstairs of the store and lived there for sometime. The house then set neglected until it started falling down. I can remember when Jim used to deliver groceries to my grandparents. The building has been empty quite a while having the same fate as the old home. Someone decided to torch it about a year ago. I remember Jim always whistling when he had the store.
