Charlie Jarrell's Store

These photos were taken inside Charlie Jarrell’s store at Rock Creek. One photo shows Charlie’s daughter, Sue, ‘57 with one of her children. Sue died from cancer in the early 90's. Charlie had just about everything you needed back in those days. He sold groceries, gas, feed, hardware, shotgun and rifle shells, dry goods and just about anything else you needed. His was the cleanest, neatest store around. He was meticulous, having a cleaning cloth or duster in hand at all times. His display windows were always decorated at Christmas just like the big stores in town. His pop cooler chilled the drinks with ice cold water. You could always find a big ice cold RC in there and there was a towel handy to dry it with. and if you had another nickel, there were always moon pies on the bread rack.
